Platts: Shell Says Aiming for Quick Fix of Leaking Nigerian Gas Pipeline

Shell has begun repair works on a leaking gas pipeline in the eastern division of Nigeria's Niger Delta region, to quickly restore gas supplies to the six-train Bonny LNG plant, a company spokesman said Friday.

"Shell is working to repair the line and restore gas supply as soon as possible," the spokesman said. "This is a gas line so there is no crude oil leak."

A joint investigative visit will be held to determine the cause of the leak, he said.
