FT: Shell warns of shale delays outside US
The development of shale oil and gas reserves around the world will generally be much slower than in North America, a senior executive at Royal Dutch Shell has warned.
Andrew Brown, Shell’s head of international oil and gas production, said the lack of equipment and skilled staff, and the need for extensive exploration in the regions outside the US and Canada, would hold back the growth of output from shale reserves.
The surge in US shale gas and oil production made possible by advances in technology has transformed the North American energy industry. MORE
