Singapore Mulls Second LNG Terminal
Singapore will take up a feasibility study to see whether it should build a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to meet future needs. Business Times reports that the Energy Market Authority (EMA) has just called a tender for a consultant to carry the study out..
The regulator, in its tender, said that it "seeks consultancy services for (a) feasibility study of liquefied natural gas terminal and assessment of gas network infrastructure plans".
The newspaper said that it is clearly a preliminary study to assess the need for a second LNG terminal, following comments last month by S Iswaran, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, that Singapore does not rule out this possibility.
