Singapore Ups LNG Capacity to 9 Million Tonnes
Singapore says it will build another storage tank for liquefied natural gas (LNG), a government minister says.
Speaking at the Gas Asia Summit in the city-state, industry minister S. Iswaran said the tank would increase storage capacity to 9 million tonnes per annum.
This will be the fourth tank in Singapore's LNG terminal. The first two tanks, with combined capacity of 3.5 m tonnes, are expected to be operating by late next year.
The third tank will be ready by the end of the year, and the newly-announced fourth tank by 2016.
