Sinopec ramps up output at Yuanba gas field

Yuanba gas field produced 1.8bn m3 of gas in the first six months of the year, up 8.4% year/year, its operator Sinopec said on August 2.

Yuanba, located in Sichuan province, achieved an operational milestone earlier this year with cumulative production reaching 20bn m3. It is China’s first ultra-deep reef high-sulfur gas field and has a production capacity of 4bn m3/year.

According to Sinopec, Yuanba gas field is one of the important resource bases for the gasification of the Yangtze River economic belt, which stretches from Sichuan province to Shanghai. It covers many fast-growing cities like Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanchang and Nanjing.
