Sinopec Starts Beihai LNG Terminal in Guangxi

Sinopec on Wednesday announced its Beihai LNG terminal in Guangxi has become commercially operational.

On Tuesday the terminal received a vessel, Methane Spirit, carrying 160,000 cubic meter of LNG from the Australia Pacific LNG project.

The start of commercial operation will ensure a secure supply of natural gas throughout the southwestern region of Guangxi autonomous region, Sinopec stated. This is Sinopec’s first LNG terminal in the region.

Sinopec has a 7.6 mtpa 20-year contract with APLNG. It also owns a 25 percent stake in the Australian LNG project.
