Sinopec’s Qingdao terminal unloads 1st Qatari cargo
State-run Sinopec’s Qingdao terminal in Shandong province has received its first cargo of Qatari LNG, Reuters reported on April 5 citing a statement by Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange.
The 205,000 m3 cargo is part of the 10-year supply deal Sinopec penned with Qatar Petroleum in March last year for annual supplies of 2mn metric tons, or roughly 2.8bn m3, starting this year, Reuters said.
The work on the next expansion phase of the terminal is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, doubling capacity to 14mn mt/yr.
