Sinopec Tianjin Terminal's Imports Jump

Sinopec’s Tianjin LNG terminal, near Beijing, has received 1.75mn metric tons of LNG in the year to March 27, up 34% yr/yr, the company said on the same day.

The terminal has supplied 2.15bn m3 of regasified LNG to customers downstream, the company said. The terminal began commercial operations in February 2018 and supplies to downstream customers in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong.

Late last year, Sinopec, as part of the second phase expansion, hiked the terminal's regasification capacity to 45mn m3/day, including the newly added capacity of 30mn m3/d. Once the second phase is fully commissioned, the terminal’s regasification capacity will rise to 10.8mn metric tons/year from 3mn mt/yr.

In addition to its Tianjin terminal, Sinopec operates a terminal at Beihai and at Qingdao in Shandong province.
