Sinopec's Tianjin Terminal Unloads 6mn mt of LNG

Sinopec’s Tianjin LNG terminal, near Beijing, has unloaded over 6mn metric tons of LNG since it became operational early last year, Sinopec said December 13.

The terminal began commercial operations in February 2018 and has received and unloaded 6.06mn mt of LNG since then. The Tianjin terminal supplies to downstream customers in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong.

Earlier this month, Sinopec, as part of the second phase expansion, hiked the terminal's regasification capacity to 45mn m3/day, including the newly added capacity of 30mn m3/d. Once the second phase is fully commissioned, the terminal’s regasification capacity will rise to 10.8mn metric tons/year from 3mn mt/yr, Sinopec said.
