Sinopec's Yuanba Field Hits Production Milestone
Sinopec-operated Yuanba gas field has achieved an operational milestone with cumulative production reaching 14bn m3, Sinopec said June 24.
The field, located in southwestern China's Sichuan province, became operational in late-2014. The construction of the Yuanba gas field started in August 2011.
Yuanba gas field is China’s first ultra-deep reef high-sulfur gas field with proven gas reserves of 220bn m3. According to Sinopec, Yuanba gas field is one of the important resource bases for the gasification of the Yangtze river economic belt, which stretches from Sichuan province to Shanghai. It covers a number of fast-growing cities like Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanchang and Nanjing.
