Reuters: Slovakia Rejects Ukraine Complaint Over Gas Flows

Slovak gas pipeline operator Eustream on Wednesday rejected Ukrainian government complaints about Slovakia's refusal to provide more capacity for reverse gas flow to Ukraine, saying any change must be negotiated on a multi-lateral level.

Ukraine, which is seeking alternatives to Russian gas, has long called on Slovakia to reverse the flow in one of the four main pipelines that carry Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine.

Slovakia has refused, saying it would violate its contracts with Gazprom and threaten shipments of Russian gas to a number of countries in the European Union.
