Socar Continues Drilling on Gunashi Field

Azerbaijan’s Socar continues its drilling plans despite tensions with Armenia.               

‘Socar continues drilling works at the well #33 from the platform #13 on Gunashli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea,’ the company wrote on its website. 

The deepwater project, which should be commissioned by 28 May, is promising both for gas and condensate production.

‘According to geologists, daily production rate of the well will make 150 000 cubic meters of gas and 15 tons of condensate.’

Baku is trying to secure its position in the European gas markets, through a frenzy of diplomatic operations. Recently, Azeri political figures also met a delegation from Iran.
