IOL: SA’s Power Crunch May Deepen After Clashes

Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson on Tuesday cautioned that the country needed to look beyond the political fallout following the xenophobic violence and begin to consider the implications on its energy needs.

“Our country already has long-standing reciprocal relationships with a number of neighbouring countries from whom we procure electricity, and the water required to run our power stations,” she said.
