South Korea, Oman discuss hydrogen, LNG

South Korea and Oman are looking to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy including hydrogen and LNG, South Korea’s ministry of trade, industry and energy said on September 5.

The east Asian nation's minister for trade, industry and energy Lee Chang-yang had a meeting with Oman’s energy and minerals minister Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi in Seoul. South Korean companies are also looking to invest in Omani energy infrastructure projects, the ministry said.

According to local media reports, Oman was South Korea's fourth-largest LNG supplier last year, accounting for 9.6% of the country's total LNG imports. South Korea was Oman's biggest LNG buyer, taking up 44.2% of its total gas exports, Yonhap reported.
