South Pars Phase 16 Almost Complete
Phase 16 of Iran's South Pars gas field will be almost complete, once its main platform, now in the final stage of construction, would be mounted in place in the Persian Gulf, reports Tasnim News Agency.
The news agency adds that phase 15 is also nearing completion with 94% of work done.
When fully operational, phases 15 and 16 are expected to produce a combined total of 50 million cubic meters (mcm) per day of natural gas, 1.05 million tons a year of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), one million ton a year of ethane, 75,000 barrels a day of gas condensate and 400 tons a day of sulphur, Tasnim reports.
The South Pars gas field, whose development has been divided into 24 phases, is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the maritime border between Iran and Qatar.
