Focus: After complying with EU legislation South Stream project to continue: Bulgaria PM
No one speaks of [termination] of the South Stream [gas pipeline] project. After it comes to comply with EU legislation, the South Stream project will continue,“ said Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski, speaking for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) on Friday afternoon.
He takes part in a sitting of the European Council, at which the nominations for President of the European Commission are discussed, the financial regulations of the EU as well as other issues, among which is Europe’s energy security.
On Sunday, June 8, Mr Oresharski said Bulgaria was suspending the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline until it was brought in line with EU legislation.
