Standart News: South Stream: Negotiations between Moscow and Brussels continue
Even though the European Parliament voted for the termination of the South Stream, this will not affect its implementation. This position was expressed by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak yesterday, as quoted by ITAR-TASS. According to him, the project proceeds as provided for in international agreements and therefore can not be stopped.
The day before, The European Parliament adopted a resolution about stopping the pipeline project and looking for other sources of gas supplies to the European Union. The decision was made as part of other measures against Russia.
Novak noted, however, that Moscow continues to lead consultations with the European Commission about the South Stream.
