Stabilis to provide LNG fuelling at Texan port
Small-scale LNG supplier Stabilis said on August 3 it had signed a memorandum of understanding to offer LNG fuelling services in the Texan port of Galveston with port operator Galveston Wharves.
Under the agreement, the two sides will provide turnkey LNG fuelling solutions to ships that call on the port, identifying suitable dock space for shore-to-ship fuelling operations, securing needed permits and approvals, identifying potential customers and undertaking the fuelling operations.

Stabilis will bring to bear its fleet of mobile cryogenic assets, including LNG transportation and distribution equipment, and supply the super-cooled gas from its liquefaction facilities in Texas and Louisiana. The company closed the purchase of an LNG production facility at Port Allen in Louisiana in June. Stabilis expects to start LNG bunkering in Galveston next year.
"The use of LNG as a marine fuel is critical for marine operators to reduce their emissions profile, and Stabilis is building a North American network of LNG bunkering locations to provide this critical service to our marine customers," Stabilis CEO Jim Reddinger said.
Stabilis already provids LNG bunkering services at the port of Corpus Christi, also in Texas.
