Sweden's Biofrigas signs LoI for biogas liquefaction project in Finland

Sweden-based Biofrigas announced on September 19 that it had signed a letter of intent with a Finnish biogas producer to deliver infrastructure for liquefying upgraded biogas. The initial order is valued at SEK13mn ($1.3mn), with the potential to expand to SEK54mn.

The facility will liquefy upgraded biogas at the customer's plant in central Finland, using Biofrigas' CryoSep P technology, with a capacity of up to 10 GWh per unit annually. The customer, currently producing 45 GWh of biogas, plans to transition to liquefied biogas to enhance its product range.

The customer currently uses agricultural and food industry by-products to produce upgraded gas, which is sold to the vehicle sector and various industrial applications.

The project will initially liquefy a portion of the total volume, with plans to scale as demand increases. The agreement is subject to the customer obtaining necessary permits and completing financing.
