Swen Capital Partners, BiogaServizi launch Ringas

Paris-based Swen Capital Partners’ Impact Fund for Transition 2 and Italy’s BiogaServizi have established Ringas and acquired six biogas plants that will be upgraded to produce biomethane, Ringas announced on May 12.

Ringas combines the technical and financial expertise of its partners to produce biomethane from by-products of vegetal and animal origin. By converting biogas plants into biomethane facilities and constructing new ones, Ringas aims to produce renewable gas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80%.

Of the six acquired plants, five are located in the Province of Cremona and one in the Province of Alessandria. Their total biogas electricity production capacity is approximately 5.625 MW. These plants will be converted to produce 1,800 m3/hour of biomethane, equivalent to the annual domestic consumption of a town with 60,000 inhabitants.

Managed by Swen Capital Partners, the Swen Impact Fund for Transition 2 (SWIFT 2) is entirely dedicated to investments in renewable gas infrastructure. SWIFT 2 provides Ringas with the necessary capital for constructing at least 10 biomethane plants.

BiogaServizi is the main Italian operator of biogas plants, offering management services to approximately 20 biogas plants in Italy, including six managed with full-service contracts. BiogaServizi contributes its expertise to Ringas in operational management, obtaining necessary authorizations, and planning and controlling the construction of the plants.
