Taiwan’s CPC in HOA With Cheniere

Taiwan’s CPC, the state-owned oil and gas company, and US LNG exporter Cheniere Energy said July 2 they have executed a heads of agreement (HOA) for the supply of 2mn metric tons/year of LNG.

The 25-year HOA was signed in Washington, DC on June 20 and will, according to a statement from CPC, “strengthen the trade relationship between [the] US and Taiwan.”

With the HOA in hand, CPC said, negotiations will continue toward reaching a final LNG sales and purchase agreement.
