Tarim Oilfield's output up 5% in Jan-Apr

The Tarim oilfield, one of China’s biggest upstream projects, saw its output reach 11.04mn metric tons of oil equivalent in the first four months of the year, up 5.5% year/year, its state-owned operator CNPC said on May 19.

The field produced 2.034mn metric tons of petroleum liquids and 11.3bn m3 of natural gas during the fourth month period.

CNPC late last year said it wants to raise Tarim's production to 40mn mt of oil equivalent by 2025. The field is located in China's northwestern Xinjiang province and its output was 30mn mt of oil equivalent last year.
