Technip Awarded Canadian Work
TechnipFMC said August 29 it has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract by Canada's Husky Energy for the West White Rose oil development project offshore eastern Canada.
The contract covers the supply and installation of subsea equipment including tie-in manifolds, flexible flowlines, and control umbilicals, which will connect the recently announced West White Rose Platform to the existing SeaRose floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The Husky-operated West White Rose Project, from which first oil is expected 2022, will use a fixed platform tied back to the SeaRose FPSO vessel.
The main White Rose field is roughly 350 km (217 miles) east of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, on the eastern edge of the Jeanne d’Arc Basin in water depths of about 120 metres (393 feet).
Production is done by subsea wells in the Southern and Central drill centres; surplus gas is re-injected into the Northern Drill Centre for future extraction.
Husky's partners on the project are fellow Canadian independent Suncor and Nalcor, which is owned by the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
