Technip, Nipigaz "to drive energy transition in Russia"
France's Technip Energies announced on March 25 it would be forming a partnership with Russian contractor Nipigaz on developing a range of clean energy technologies in Russia.
The pair have signed a heads of agreement on creating a joint venture, known as Nova Energies, which will aim "to drive the energy transition journey in Russia." The JV will focus on areas including CO2 removal and capture, clean hydrogen production, bio-energies, bio-refineries, biochemistry and ammonia. The scope of its work will cover engineering and design, project documentation and capex estimates, as well as engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.

Technip Energies, which was recently spun off from TechnipFMC, will leverage its experience to help Russian clients meet their energy transition targets, CEO Arnaud Pieton said. Nipgaz, a subsidiary of Russian petrochemicals giant Sibur, has been involved in many of Russia's major oil and gas projects over the years.
