Technip to Build Pipeline for Husky-CNOOC Gas JV
Technip said Tuesday that it will construct a pipeline to connect Liwan gas platform to China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s (CNOOC) Gaolan gas plant.
Technip’s scope covers the shallow water portion of the development project. It includes the installation of 160 kilometers of 30” export oil and gas two-phase pipeline from the Liwan gas platform to a water depth of approximately 70 meters. The pipeline will have a total length of 260 kilometers.
This is a part of Liwan 3-1 shallow water project, located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, China Sea, at approximately 300 kilometers South of Hong Kong, China. The pipeline project is likely to be completed by the end of this year.
Husky, which has 49% stake in Liwan 3-1 shallow water project will operate the deep-water section and manage the drilling, while CNOOC will operate the shallow-water infrastructure. Commercial production from the project is expected to commence by end of next year or early 2014.
