Tecnicas Reunidas bags Qatari North Field contract
Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for onshore facilities that will be built as part of Qatar's North Field East (NFE) expansion plan, project operator Qatar Petroleum reported on August 24.
Tecnicas Reunidas' contract covers an expansion of existing gas liquid product storage and loading facilities as well as import facilities for mono-ethylene glycol at the Ras Laffan industrial city. It also includes ancillary facilities and pipelines.

The facilities will handle gas liquids produced at the four new LNG trains as part of the $29bn NFE project, set to expand Qatar's liquefaction capacity from 77mn metric tons/year to 110mn mt/yr. The first of the trains should come online in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The facilities will also be used for liquids from two more trains planned as part of the North Field South project, which will further increase the country's LNG production to 126mn mt/yr. QP is yet to take a final investment decision on this second phase.
