Tecnicas Reunidas, Sinopec win $3.3bn contract for Saudi NGL facility
A joint venture of Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas and China’s Sinopec have clinched a $3.3bn contract to serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the Riyas natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation facility in Saudi Arabia, the Spanish company said on January 22.
This joint venture, with 65% ownership by Tecnicas Reunidas and 35% by Sinopec Engineering Group, a unit of Sinopec, has been awarded the project by Saudi Aramco, one of the world's largest energy companies.
The contract encompasses two components: the Riyas NGL fractionation trains (Package 1) and Riyas NGL common facilities (Package 2), which include utilities, storage, and export facilities.
The expected duration of the project is about 46 months for Package 1 and about 41 months for Package 2. The new facilities will fractionate 510,000 barrels per/day of NGLs.
