TMK Energy to start drilling at Mongolia CBM project
Australia’s TMK Energy will start the drilling operations at the Gurvantes XXXV pilot well programme in Mongolia in the coming weeks, the company said on April 3.
“Following site preparation and the construction of a semi-permanent camp to house the drilling and operations staff, the site is now ready to receive the drilling rig which was contracted from Major Drilling earlier this year,” it said.

The pilot well programme at the Gurvantes XXXV coalbed methane project includes the drilling of three production wells and a six-month extended production test.
In December 2022, fellow ASX-listed Talon Energy exercised an option to take a 33% interest in the production sharing agreement over the Gurvantes XXXV project and entered into a joint venture with TMK, which holds the balance of 67% interest and is the operator of the project.
