TNK-BP eying ConocoPhillips' Vietnam assets

Russia's TNK-BP has lodged a bid for ConocoPhillips’ assets in Vietnam, a company official said Monday.

The company already has assets in the South China Sea and is keen to expand its interest in the South East Asian nation.

Assets that Conoco is looking to sell include a 23.3% stake in a group of five fields in Block 15-1, where oil production started in 2003, a 36% stake in Rang Dong Field in Block 15-2 in the Cuu Long basin and a 16.3% stake in the Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline project, PV Oil.

TNK-BP which is owned 50:50 by BP and a Russian consortium known as Alfa-Access-Renova is aiming for substantial operations outside Russia in coming years.
