Tokyo Gas, Taiwan's CPC Form LNG Partnership
Tokyo Gas and Taiwan’s CPC Corporation have a memorandum to boost cooperation in the field of LNG.
The two companies will collaborate to optimise LNG inventory, procure LNG and work on engineering, technical matters related to natural gas, Tokyo Gas said Thursday.
The MOU was signed by Michiaki Hirose, President of Tokyo Gas and Sheng-Chung Lin, Chairman of CPC.
Ever since the tsunami, Tokyo Gas has maintained a close working relationship with CPC Corporation, Taiwan through information exchange, with the purpose of lowering Asian LNG import prices, the company said.
In its “Challenge 2020 Vision,” Tokyo Gas declared its targets to reduce raw materials prices and to realize appropriate Asian market prices. With these goals in mind, Tokyo Gas will accelerate collaboration with LNG buyers both within and outside Japan, the company said.
Last year, Tokyo Gas signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on strategic collaboration with Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas).
