Tokyo Gas to supply carbon-neutral gas to Nomura housing project
Japanese utility Tokyo Gas has agreed to supply carbon-neutral city gas to a real estate project being developed by Nomura Real Estate Development in Tokyo, the company said on November 9. It will also supply power that will be generated from 100% renewable sources.
The apartment block is expected to be ready by March 2025 and will be the first newly-built condominiums to which Tokyo Gas will supply carbon-neutral city gas, it said.
Tokyo Gas said it will continue to promote efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the household sector and contribute to the realisation of a carbon-free society. In March 2020, Tokyo Gas began initial supplies of carbon-neutral city gas to two office buildings owned by Mitsubishi Estate for the first time in Japan.
