TotalEnergies charters two LNGCs from Russia's SCF

France's TotalEnergies has exercised an option to charter two 174,000-m3 LNG carriers (LNGCs) from Russia's Sovcomflot (SCF), the state-owned shipowner said on July 8.

The vessels will be chartered for up to seven years, serving a role in TotalEnergies' global LNG trade portfolio. The French major exercised the option under a contract reached with SCF earlier this year for a sister vessel due for delivery in the third quarter of 2023.
