Toyota Tsusho to supply CBM to Australia LNG project
Toyota Tsusho Corp. will supply coal-bed methane to BG Group Plc’s LNG plant for 20 years, the company said Tuesday.
The methane will be extracted from a coal bed in Queensland and will serve as feed gas for BG's Queensland Curtis LNG project.
Queensland Curtis LNG plant will become the world’s first facility to use coal-bed methane for liquefaction.
BG Group's Australian subsidiary, QGC, is developing gas fields in Queensland to supply its 8.5 million mt/year LNG plant on Curtis Island in Gladstone. The Queensland Curtis LNG project was sanctioned October 2010 and is expected to begin producing in 2014.
