Turkey boosts gas import by 20% in April
Turkey increased gas imports (including LNG) by 19.61% to above 4.25bn m³ in April compared with the same month of 2016. According to a report, released by the energy market regulator, Turkey increased piped imports from all sources, including Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan.
However Turkey decreased LNG imports by 9.1% to 428.19mn m³, while pipeline imports increased by 23.84% to 3.822bn m³.

During January-April, Turkey’s total gas imports rose by 22.26% to 20.446bn m³, of which 15.774bn m³ was pipeline gas, showing a growth of 18.4% y/y. LNG imports also rose by 37.67% to 4.672bn m³. During the four months to April, Turkey’s exports to Greece rose by 12% to above 203mn m³.
