Platts: Turkey could emerge as the EU's Mediterranean gas hub

Turkey could become Europe's Mediterranean gas hub in the next 5-10 years with the country's burgeoning domestic needs boosting its potential for transitting gas to meet the EU's growing demand, if the political will can be found, said Jerome Ferrier, the president of the International Gas Union.

"One cannot decree a hub, you need a market. It took 15 years for Europe to build its hubs," Ferrier said.
