UECC’s Auto Energy wraps up 1st LNG bunkering op in Mediterranean

UECC (United European Car Carriers) successfully completed the first LNG bunkering operation in the Mediterranean for its LNG dual-fuel vessel, Auto Energy,  the company said on June 1. The delivery of LNG was provided by Repsol, a Spanish energy company.

The bunkering operation took place in the port of Sagunto, Spain, marking the first LNG bunkering operation in that port. The success of the operation was the result of collaboration between UECC, Repsol, ESK, and local authorities, UECC said.

The LNG bunkering operation in the Mediterranean opens up new opportunities for UECC to provide greener transportation solutions on a broader range of European routes. By expanding the geographical scope of its LNG operations, UECC solidifies its commitment to greenhouse gas emission reduction and promoting a more sustainable future for the industry, the company added.
