UK energy regulator opens investigation into Scotia Gas Networks
OSLO, March 11 (Reuters) - Scotia Gas Networks Limited (SGN), which operates gas infrastructure in southern England and Scotland, on Monday said British energy regulator Ofgem's Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (GEMA) had opened an investigation into the company.
Ofgem said earlier on Monday that GEMA had launched an investigation into suspected abuse of a dominant position. It did not name the company but said the investigation was at the initial evidence gathering phase.

SGN said it is cooperating fully with the investigation "into the conduct of Scotia Gas Networks Limited and any companies that form or previously formed part of the same corporate group which focuses on SGN's connections business".
Ofgem said the opening of the investigation did not imply it had made any findings about whether there had been an infringement of competition law.
