Interfax: Ukraine challenges in Energy Community promotion of South Stream project by its members
The member countries of the EU and the Energy Community are continuing to promote the South Stream gas pipeline project, contrary to the treaty establishing the Energy Community, according to a letter sent by Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko to the director of the organization's secretariat, Slavtcho Neykov.
"Despite Ukraine's desire to create the necessary conditions to ensure Europe's energy security, unfortunately, today we see that actions by the EU and the Energy Community are aimed at promoting the South Stream project and actively agreeing its parameters," reads the letter, a copy of which has been obtained by Interfax-Ukraine.
Boiko pointed to the latest example of such actions: the coordination by Slovenia with Gazprom on February 27 of the parameters of the South Stream gas pipeline across the country. MORE
