Ukraine Agrees to EU Conditions for Gas Imports from Slovakia
Ukraine and Slovakia agreed on conditions for flows of gas from the European Union through Slovak pipelines to Ukraine.
The two countries said they would sign a memorandum of understanding as soon as Kiev is ready.
“We have reached an agreement in principle. Now it’s up to the Ukrainian side to set the date,” Vahram Chuguryan, a spokesman for Slovak pipeline company Eustream, told Bloomberg.
The agreement is intended to decrease Kiev’s reliance on Russian gas imports.
