Ukraine's Storage Reserves Fall Faster
Ukraine's gas reserves in underground storage have continued to fall and the difference between this year and last is now greater over the last fortnight, according to data from state operator Naftogaz Ukrainy published January 18. The former Soviet Republic had 12.5bn m³ underground as of January 16, down from 13.8bn m³ on the same day 2018.
A fortnight ago the difference was 0.9bn m³. The later start to the winter meant that it could keep injecting through November, so it started the heating season with more gas in store than it had last year.
