Ukraine Mulls Qatari LNG Imports

Ukraine is looking for future LNG supplies from Qatar.

The East European nation currently imports gas from Russia and is looking for new sources for supply of the fuel. “We try to diversify our sources of gas, that’s why we look upon Qatar as well,” said country's ambassador to Qatar, Yevhen Mykytenko, The Peninsula reported.

“Qatar is a heavyweight country and the biggest energy supplier in the world. It has the brightest perspectives and a very high speed of development,” the envoy said.

Qatar is set to open its embassy in Kiev in another three months.
