Platts: Ukraine to boost natural gas imports from Poland April 1

Ukraine will increase natural gas imports from Poland to 5 million cubic meters/day beginning April 1, up from about 2 million cu m/d at present, state gas shipper UkrTransGaz said Friday.

The increase is part of a diversification strategy as Ukraine looks to reduce its dependence on Russian gas imports, UkrTransGaz said.

The strategy calls for using existing gas pipelines in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania for gas imports from European sources.  MORE
