Ukraine to Tender Unconventional Gas Prospects

Kommersant-Ukraine reports that Ukraine will hold a tender on product sharing agreements to explore for unconventional natural gas in the Lviv region and on the border of Kharkiv and Donetsk areas, citing an interview with Deputy Environment Minister Mykola Zlochevskyi.

Ukraine has 25.6 trillion cubic meters of unconventional gas resources in the Donbass area, the newspaper said. About 8 trillion cubic meters in deposits can also be found in other parts of the country.

Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Chevron Corp., TNK-BP and Exxon Mobil Corp. have expressed interest in exploring for unconventional gas in Ukraine.
