Ukraine's Naftogaz increases gas output by 8% in H1

Ukraine’s Naftogaz has produced 7.3bn mof natural gas during the first six months of 2024, marking an 8% year/year increase, the company announced on July 2.

At present, gas production exceeds the operating plan by almost 2%. This achievement is attributed to the launch of 41 wells, one more than planned, with 14 of these being high-rate wells producing over 100,000 cubic metres of gas per day.

“Our experts are also constantly analysing old wells that can be brought back into operation with new technical solutions," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz.

Recently, Naftogaz discussed the renewable gas potential in Ukraine. During the first Ukrainian forum on biomethane held on 22 April, Chernyshov stated that the country has the potential to produce over 20bn m3/year of biomethane.
