Ukrainian Negotiations Continue Amid Crossfires
Negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France continued on Tuesday, with the Foreign Ministers of the fours countries speaking on the phone to progress on practical aspects.
‘Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin discussed with Sergey Lavrov, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Laurent Fabius a number of practical and technical steps to the implementation of the Ukrainian President’s peace plan on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine as soon as possible,’ reads a note released by the Ukrainian government on Tuesday.
According to the document, Ukraine report that the rebel groups have been breaking the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine.
‘Believing in the current situation as the first priority to stop immediately by militants and terrorists armed violence, release the hostages and introduce OSCE full control over compliance with the ceasefire regime and effective monitoring of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border,’ concludes the press release.
Meanwhile, the gas flow from Ukraine remains in normal mode.
‘According to the state at 09:00 (CET), 1 July 2014 related to transmission from East to the European Union, Eustream didn´t record pressure reduction or gas volumes decrease at the Compressor Station Veľké Kapušany on the border with Ukraine,’ reads a communique by Slovakia’s Eustream.
