UK's LOC Wins Oz Ichthys Services Contract
UK-based engineering company LOC has signed a five-year contract with Inpex for the Ichthys LNG project in Australia, it said on June 16 in a statement.
The agreement will cover the provision of marine warranty services and marine assurance for Ichthys LNG and its associated drilling operations. It will include warranty review and approval for the loadout, transportation and installation activities of new field architecture, LOC said.
“Having supported Inpex on the Ichthys LNG development for the past seven years, we are therefore very pleased to have been awarded this additional work,” Alex Harrison, energy services director for Asia Pacific in LOC Perth, said.
The 8.9mn mt/yr Ichthys LNG started up in October 2018 and reached financial completion in December 2019. Inpex serves as the operator with a 62.25% stake, while France's Total has 26%. Other shareholders include the off-takers CPC Corp Taiwan (2.63%), Tokyo Gas (1.58%), Osaka Gas (1.2%), Kansai Electric Power (1.2%), Jera (0.74%) and Toho Gas (0.42%).
