Uniper Names Supervisory Board Chairman
The supervisory board of Uniper has appointed a former E.ON executive Klaus-Dieter Maubach as its new chairman, the German utility said late April 22.
“Uniper is a great company operating in an industry experiencing a pivotal moment in its history. In addition, the world is in the midst of unprecedented and challenging times in which the management board needs a supervisory board that ensures support and stability,” he said after his election.
Maubach began his career in the energy sector in 1995. Over the last 25 years, he has fulfilled many leadership roles in several other energy companies and on other supervisory boards such as ABB Deutschland and Finnish Fortum, the new owner of Uniper.
Uniper CEO Andreas Schierenbeck said Maubach and the other supervisory board members brought "tremendous expertise in the energy sector" and would "be of great support to us.”
