Daily Mail: Union calls for halt to fracking
Britain's biggest trade union is to lobby for a moratorium on fracking for shale gas after its national conference hardened its stance on the controversial issue.
Delegates at Unite's meeting in Liverpool called for union members to be made aware of the dangers of fracking and be advised not to work on fracking sites.
The conference voted to lobby for a moratorium on all fracking activities across the United Kingdom and to encourage the Labour Party and Labour-controlled councils to oppose the application of hydraulic fracturing technology.
