Vedanta strikes gas in west India

Mumbai-listed Vedanta has made a natural gas discovery in the western Indian state of Gujarat, it said in a stock exchange filing on August 23.

The company said it had informed the authorities about a gas and condensate discovery in its exploratory well Jaya-1 drilled in OALP Block CB-ONHP/2017/2 in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The block was awarded to the company in October 2018 and it holds 100% participating interest in the block.
