Velesto Drilling has been awarded a $17.68mn jack-up drilling contract by Shell in Malaysia, Manila listed Velesto Energy, Velesto Drilling's parent company, said on April 7.  

The contract is for Velesto’s jack-up rig, Naga 4, which will be used to drill seven offshore wells with an expected start date between August 15 and October 15, the company said.  

Naga 4 is an independent-leg cantilever jack-up drilling rig that has a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and has a rated operating water depth of 400 feet.
